Pre-Kindergarten
Pre-K at St. Louise School is dedicated to fostering early development in a warm, faith-centered environment, helping children build confidence, social skills, and foundational academic knowledge in preparation for kindergarten.
Pre-K Overview:
- Provides both half-day and full-day options to accommodate family needs. We also offer extended daycare option after school until 5:45 pm.
- Focuses on whole-child development, including academic, spiritual, emotional, and social growth.
- Small class sizes (with a maximum teacher to student ration of 1:10) allow for personalized attention and support.
Curriculum Overview:
- Literacy: Introduction to letters, sounds, and basic reading skills.
- Math: Counting, number recognition, patterns, and simple problem-solving.
- Science: Hands-on experiments exploring basic concepts like seasons, weather, plants, animals, and the five senses.
- Social Studies: Understanding communities, holidays, and basic social skills.
- Enrichment: Daily activities include faith formation art, music, movement, and outdoor play to encourage creativity and physical development.
Service Projects:
- Community Involvement: Participation in school-wide service projects such as the Thanksgiving Food Drive and Lenten activities.
- Support Programs: Engage in initiatives like New Bethlehem Programs and partnering with local retirement communities, fostering a sense of empathy and community service from an early age.
Enrichment Opportunities:
- Interactive Learning: Classroom centers that rotate themes and materials to keep learning dynamic and engaging, promoting hands-on exploration and discovery.
- Field Trips: Visits to places like the pumpkin patch, fire house, animal sanctuary, and Kids Quest Museum.
- Special Events: Includes activities like the Thanksgiving feast, Christmas performances, Mothers' Day Tea, Dads & Donuts Breakfast, and a spring concert, providing opportunities for students to showcase their learning and participate in school traditions.
Staff: The Pre-K staff at St. Louise School includes Mrs. Wendy Blank, M.Ed., and Mrs. Kelly D’Ambrosio as the lead teachers. They are supported by instructional assistants, Mrs. Jacintha Vimal, Mrs. Lavina Goveas, and Mrs. Sharon Victor. Together, they provide a nurturing and faith-filled environment for young learners, focusing on the development of the whole child—spiritually, socially, emotionally, and academically.
