Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

St. Louise School recognizes the importance of social and emotional learning and the role it plays in academic success. Social and emotional learning, or SEL, is a developmental process that starts at home and continues at school and is comprised of five areas: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making. To support and help foster the development of SEL skills aligned with the Catholic faith, St. Louise School implements the Friendzy curriculum. All homeroom teachers, with the support of the counselor, will teach weekly lessons to their class. Friendzy is a faith-based curriculum that provides students with the skills necessary to build healthy relationships, manage stress, improve focus, and reduce disruptive behavior. We are committed to offering faith-based support to the social and emotional learning of St. Louise students.
