Fourth Grade
Fourth grade at St. Louise School emphasizes independence, critical thinking, and responsibility, supporting students as they transition to higher academic and personal expectations in a faith-centered environment.
4th Grade Overview:
- Focuses on student independence in managing classwork, homework, and time management.
- Uses daily planners and the Skyward system to track assignments and grades.
Curriculum Overview:
- Religion: Studies on Jesus, the Ten Commandments, and Beatitudes.
- Reading and Language Arts: Emphasis on comprehension, vocabulary, and creative expression.
- Math: Multiplication, division, fractions, and geometry.
- Science: Topics include life, physical, and earth sciences, with hands-on experiments.
- Social Studies: Washington state history, government, and geography, Native Americans, explorers of the Pacific Northwest, and the Oregon Trail.
Service Projects:
- Supports Operation Gratitude by sending letters and care packages to military members.
- Participates in school-wide projects like food drives and supporting New Bethlehem Programs.
Enrichment Opportunities:
- Field trips to local plays and educational sites such as the Washington State Corn Maze.
- "Of Cedar and Salmon" enrichment program exploring Native American culture.
- Hands-on activities like cow eye dissection and electricity experiments.
- Marketplace project where students create and run a small business.
